Von is a technologist, engineer, and researcher with a career spanning military service, advanced scientific research, and large-scale software system development.
He holds a BS in Physics and Electrical Engineering, an MS in Electrophysics, an MA in Management, and a PhD in Electrophysics.
After returning to civilian life following service in the United States Army, Signal Corps, where he rose to the rank of Major, Von focused on the design, development, and deployment of complex software systems.
Over more than 30 years of software development, he has authored 65 technical papers, holds 4 patents, and has supported mission-critical systems operating on aircraft, ships, and ground stations. His work spans sensing, communications, control systems, and advanced computation in environments where failure is not an option.
Today, Von continues to explore and adopt emerging tools—including Google’s agentic ecosystem, large language models for coding and content creation, and newly available AI services—with a focus on turning raw capability into practical, human-centered systems.
He is deeply motivated by bringing new capabilities to mission areas that are underserved, overlooked, or considered too complex or too small for conventional technology investment.
